I feel if you are spending your hard earned money on a luxury holiday, you deserve the perfect spot. Below is a guide to help find what’s best for your party.
We’re after somewhere romantic.
Awwww well, for gentle walks next to the sea, I’m not sure Budleigh Salterton can be beat. Gidleigh Park restaurant in Chagford has 2 Michelin Stars. Romantic beaches include Hele Bay Beach, which is set in a cove and Torquay’s peaceful Watcombe Beach. The Tarka Trail covers a lot of North Devon and would make for a lovely tandem bike ride.
I want lots of things to do on holiday.
Plymouth is your best bet. The biggest city in Devon, it has a quality mix of scenery, nightlife and culture. You really have got the whole
package here, including a thriving water sports scene. Plymouth Hoe & the National Marine Aquarium are worth checking out.

What’s new in Devon for 2010?
South Devon Festival is a new music event held in Newton Abbot in July. In August, Culmstock village is also having a festival, with some gigantic names said to be taking part. Devon railway centre has put some new rides in for older kids.
Which places are wheelchair friendly in Devon?
Most of Westward Ho! is very flat and has lots of parking. Dartmouth is pretty decent, although parking is poor. Barnstaple isn’t that near the sea but isn’t hilly.
Where would be good for a sporty holiday?
Exmouth would be a sublime choice. The excellent East Devon golf course would be around 3 miles away. There is a quality leisure complex in the area. Edge Watersports offers tuition in a number of fields and is based in Exmouth. The Exe cycle path starts near the railway station. Close by, you can rent bicycles.
